Promoting climate resilient communities

The effects of climate change are leading to an increasing decline and loss of livelihoods and natural resources in the project region of Isiolo County in Kenya. The project contributes to the sustainable livelihood of the population by increasing resilience to the impacts of climate change.

  • Promoting sustainable livestock production for 1,000 livestock producers
  • Building supply chains and support services for livestock producers and farmers
  • Developing alternative incomes for ten women's groups and five youth groups
  • Promoting climate-adapted sustainable resource management.
  • Promoting councils of elders and traditional knowledge in decision-making
  • Strengthening local capacity for risk management
  • Disseminating climate information through radio and other media
