Medicine in the bush

Medical care is difficult to access in South Sudan, especially for the rural population. As a result, many people continue to die from diseases that are actually curable, malnutrition and pregnancy complications. These are treated in the bush clinics in Nyal and Rumbek.

Activities

Construction and long-term operation of the clinics in Nyal and Rumbek. 2017 Handover of the two facilities to locally rooted partner organizations. Support for the work of the new operators through Sign of Hope in the form of food, supplies, medicines and the provision of salaries.

  • Medicinal treatment of common infectious diseases and outpatient care
  • Therapeutic feeding program for malnourished children
  • Pregnancy care and deliveries, immunizations for women and children
  • Health education for disease prevention.
