Focus on Africa

Sign of Hope's projects are being undertaken in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, South Sudan and Uganda, among others. These projects provide education and medical care, protect human rights and natural resources, develop infrastructure, and set up or ensure the supply of food and water.

Sign of Hope's East Africa Branch is located in Nairobi, Kenya. It works closely with the organisation's head office, which is in Konstanz, Germany, and with the representation in Rumbek, a town located in South Sudan's Lakes State. The staff there manages logistics and other operations in South Sudan. This array of offices maximises the efficiency of deployment of Sign of Hope's human and financial resources.

In Ethiopia, water is a scarce resource, especially within the region of Afar. Therefore, we support, in collaboration with a local partner, the community to build cisterns and develop natural resource management.

A lot of children live in the streets of Bukavu in the DR Congo. In the centres of our partner organisation they receive education, a warm meal and legal assistance.

Within South Sudan, Sign of Hope implements projects and programmes to fight hunger, give people access to drinking water and education as well basic health.
